8/7/10 Gathering of Eagles

Another beautiful day well presented.  The plans to be part of the “Eddie Ryan” tour, came apart due to some scheduling conflicts.  However, we were at the corner when the tour turned in toward the Galleria, and we were able to salute Eddies convoy as it passed.  As they departed the parking lot, the “tour” passed our entire “Stand.”  We didn’t know that was going to happen, so no cameras were up (whoops).  The acknowledgement to and from the tour, between the convoy and the Eagles was awesome.  An unexpected (and quite welcome) visitor was John Maney (Citizens4Freedom.com).  John took some great pictures of the Stand and the crew.  (The pictures have been posted on my Facebook – I don’t know how to get them on here).  Steve from the Wappingers GoE was another welcome guest, and he donated a couple of new flags for the stand.  Thanks, Steve!  I would also like to thank Phil from O/S 912, for his appearance and help with site prep and teardown.  Cathy made her lunchtime cameo appearance and is always welcome.  Diane and Candice are regular members of the crew and we thank them.  Diane was right out there with us during the setup and was a great help.  Another unexpected visitor, was Randy Thomas (O/S 912) and his son, Gabrielle.  I especially recognize the effort as they (Randy/Sheryl) were hostng a party for their college bound daughters.  My THANKS go out the rest of the “regulars” (Hank and Ann, Everist, Carlos, Dominic)  We had a few “walk-ins” who expressed some interest.  They were given the Mission/History pack.  Gathering of Eagles calling cards were issued to some of the regulars.  DISCLOSURE:  Randy/Sheryl, John/Jennie, Diane/Candice, Mike (vacation), Steve, Ed H and Bob M have all donated or dedicated flags to the Stand.  Thanks to all!
